What is Leadership Ontario?

Leadership Ontario is a leadership development program founded and funded by Ontario County. Participants in the yearly cohort improve their leadership skills, build professional connections, and gain important knowledge about Ontario County by attending 12 program days over the course of 10 months.

The goal is to build inspired, confident, community-focused leaders committed to being actively involved and contributing to Ontario County’s success.

Who should apply to Leadership Ontario?

Professionals in all stages of their careers, who live or work in Ontario County, in the public or private sector, are encouraged to apply.

Whether you’re an early professional with a few years in the workforce, or a longtime professional in your industry, the leadership curriculum is tailored to be relevant and effective for a diverse group of participants.

Leadership Ontario is also great for professionals new to Ontario County to learn about and engage with the community and make meaningful connections.

Why should a business send an employee through the program?

Any business or nonprofit interested in developing emerging leaders or supporting established leaders in their organizations can benefit from Leadership Ontario.

The time commitment is intended to be manageable and respectful of everyone’s day job. Participants attend 12 full-day sessions over 10 months.

We’re proud that Leadership Ontario is a public-private collaboration between government, business, and nonprofits. We are committed to developing leaders who will not only grow within your organization but also contribute to our community’s success, which benefits us all.

Tuition is $1,700.

Who should sponsor Leadership Ontario?

Any business or organization invested in developing and retaining top talent and contributing to the economic health and vitality of Ontario County. That’s you!

Sponsorships come with an in-person opportunity to promote your business, organization or cause to a core group of dedicated professionals looking to grow and contribute to their community.

For nonprofits, sponsorship is also a great way to identify and recruit engaged board members.

Sponsorships are an impactful way to demonstrate your organization’s values and commitment to our community, and to workforce and economic development in Ontario County.

Who should volunteer for Leadership Ontario?

Leadership Ontario would not be a success without volunteers.

Volunteers are needed to help organize and lead aspects of each program day, working closely with our leadership coach, program manager and steering committee.

We also welcome volunteers to assist with marketing, sponsorships, and alumni engagement.
